Subscriptions and charging

Subscriptions (“subs”) for 2025-26 are £15.50 per child per month. Payable monthly via OSM (Online Scout Manager).

All the people involved in Scouting are volunteers, but we still need money to pay for rent, equipment, badges, activities storage, insurance and the capitation fee we pay annually to The Scout Association. Subs covers all weekly activities in ordinary meetings.

Camps and events are charged separately in addition to subs if your child chooses to take part. None are compulsory. This is usually done through OSM. Please see below for our policy on charging and in particular what we do about late drop-outs.

Our aim as a group is to include everyone. If the cost of subs or a camp/event is too much for your family at any point then please do talk to Fred Thomas (Group Scout Leader) or one of your child’s leaders, in confidence, and we can sort something out with you.
