Squirrels are the newest Scouting section. We have two Dreys, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our Thursday Squirrels leader is Helen W and Tuesdays is Helen B and we have 2 Young Leaders. Join Us/Contact Us

Boys and girls aged 4 and 5 can join Squirrels.

Squirrels meet from 4.00 to 4.45 on Thursdays (term-time only) OR Tuesdays (from September 2026) at the Barn RH16 3QW. Please note that your child will be a member of either the Tuesday Drey or the Thursday Drey and cannot attend the other Drey.

Squirrels will also take part in occasional weekend activities.

WE NEED NEW LEADERS

To keep this amazing new section we need new adult members. There is training and plenty of support available. To be a Squirrel team member with us you need to:

-Be able to work with the 4-5 age group

-Be available from roughly 3.30 to 5.15pm on (term-time) Tuesdays or Thursday afternoons in central Haywards Heath

-Undergo a DBS check

-Provide references

-Take basic training (such as safeguarding and First Aid) plus extra training as needed

Priority for children’s places will be given to team members’ children. Children joining the Squirrel Drey have an automatic place in Beavers, Cubs and Scouts if they want to stay in Scouting.
